Getting Started

Why Solana?

Solana is the perfect blockchain for next generation DEXs looking to scale.

With its novel proof of history mechanism and other technologies responsible for its impressive speed and scalability, Solana has proved with results that it is more than capable of carrying out its mission of mass adoption.

Solana boasts of 65,000+ transactions per second (TPS), these numbers make Ethereum’s meager 15 TPS look non-existent.

Also Solana’s average rate of $0.00001 per transaction is negligible compared to the high gas fees of Ethereum blockchain.

Having built our application on Solana, we can attest to the fact that Solana’s incredible scalability does not jeopardize other essential qualities of a blockchain (decentralization and security).

What do I need to get started on Soldex?

For you to enjoy the benefits of Soldex, you’ll need a Solana Program Library (SPL) wallet for interacting with Soldex DEX and storing your tokens on the Solana blockchain.

Some good SPL wallets are:

Phantom

The Phantom wallet is a non-custodial crypto wallet built for the Solana blockchain. It lets you control your assets while interacting with the Solana ecosystem.

Phantom has a user-friendly interface. It is available as a browser extension and works on Google Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Microsoft Edge.

Solflare

Solflare is a non-custodial wallet created by Solana labs. It supports a browser extension just like Phantom. You can also download it as an IOS or android app for mobiles.

Sollet

Sollet is the best option for advanced users looking for an advanced wallet to store their SOL. Sollet is a non-custodial wallet that lets you stake SOL and SPL tokens. It is only available as a browser extension.

How to transfer funds to your wallet

After getting a Solana wallet, the next step is transferring funds to your wallet. This is how you do it:

Using a Centralized exchange like Coinbase, Binance or MEXC.

  • You can use your fiat currency like USDC or BUSD to buy SOL and transfer it to your Solana wallet.

  • You can also sell some of your current tokens on the centralized exchanges, buy SOL, then transfer them to your Solana wallet

Using a bridge

  • You can use a cross-chain bridge to transfer tokens from other blockchains like BSC or ETH to your Solana wallet.
